If you are a New South Welshman planning to move north, you are not alone. Queensland had been receiving newcomers in droves in the 1990s and 2000s, about 50,000 a year. This tapered off in the years approaching and beyond 2010, as data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicates.

But there is a new trend mounting. There appears to be more New South Welshmen moving up north.

What could be the motivation behind the relocations? Here are some reasons why more and more people in NSW are getting in touch with their removalists in Brisbane and other Queensland cities to move up north.

  • Good Weather

Queenslanders, especially those living north, enjoy some of the most pleasant weather in Australia throughout the year. There are plenty of sunny days in the year and the winters aren’t exactly the harshest. Add some cool ocean breezes to that and you have an attractive piece of heaven.

Moving to Queensland will mean you will enjoy swimming all year long although it becomes most pleasant from April to October. The water temperatures are usually fine, ranging from 23 to 29 degrees Celsius in the months of July to February. Box Jellyfish, however, ruin the party from November to March but there are enclosures set up to keep swimmers safe.

  • A Sporty Culture and Fitness Enthusiasm

There is generally a culture of sport and fitness in Queensland, perhaps due to the conducive weather. The city has plenty of people that go on early morning walks, swims, runs, and more. If you are a fitness fanatic, you will love it there.

  • It’s a Great Place to Raise a Family

Queensland is the place to be if you are planning to raise a family. The lifestyle there is quite laid back which is great for raising kids. According to a survey by Suncorp Bank, Queensland has 6 of its cities appearing in the top 20 spots in different rankings in the country.

Toowoomba scored third best place overall, as well as being the employment capital of the country. Launceston came out best city for raising kids. It has a low crime rate, its schools are not too packed, and the houses cost less than most in Australia.

Other cities that came in top 20 include Rockhampton, Townsville, Mackay, and Bundaberg. The ranking was based on crime rates, childcare, cost of housing, and how easy it is to access health facilities.

  • Packing up and Relocating

Should you backload your furniture to Brisbane, or hire a dedicated removal truck? For most people, saving money will be a key component with this choice. Of course, it’s tempting to put your furniture load onto a truck that’s already heading north and just pay for the exact space used, however, prepare yourself to be messed around with delays, damaged furniture and dreadful communication most of the time.

In this industry, you get what you pay for – hire a dedicated truck with a smaller, reputable furniture removalist from Brisbane or Sydney and have peace of mind your furniture will arrive on time with far less risk of damages as opposed to cramming your items onto a backload, crossing your fingers, and hoping for the best.

To safeguard your finances and make sure that you are not slapped with any unexpected charges, make sure you get a thorough quote and understand all the details of your contract. What is the refund policy? Are you allowed to cancel? It is also important to verify what the dispute resolution channels are before starting.

Try to get different quotes from different removalists in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, depending on where you are moving to. A professional removalist can make the whole relocation so much bearable. Start with Brisbane Removalists they seem to have a decent rep in the industry:
